E30 M3 of Trany Fluid

I have an 88 m3 i was wondering what type of trany fluid my trany takes ATF or Gear oil?

I would recoomed Redline ATF..

Redline ATF, or Royal Purple ATF are both very good in the E30 M3 tranny.

It depends on what kinda fluid you have in your car already. Some have ATF, others have just regular tranny fluid. I think how it works is of you have allen plugs on your tranny, it will come with ATF. If it's just a regular 17mm bolt, it comes with regular tranny fluid.

The E30 M3 calls for ATF. Other viscosity's and blends do not work as well.

If you don't have ATF and want to use standard gear oil, you can use 75W80 as well.
