Whats the gas mileage on e30 325 & 318?

Im looking to buy a econo beater, probably spend around $1500 and I was thinking the e30 would be a great car! I had a 84 325e and a 89 325i but i only got 24 mpg on it. I want to know what you guys get

If you want a good beater that gets good MPG, go for an older Civic hatchback or something

I got about 25-28 on my E30 318. It's so underpowered that it needs to rev to keep up.
