Buying a 2-door e30

One of my friends is looking at getting a car, and she's interested in buying an e30, which of course is fine by me

Anyway, What's a reasonable price to pay for a 2-door e30 in decent condition? Mileage isn't a huge issue, much more interested in condition of the car. In the 3-4k range, are you looking at a 4 or 6 cylinder? Thanks in advance guys.

if you can, try and get an 88-91 (preferrably 89-91) E30. They tend to be in better shape too. for the -is variant (which will probably be what she gets if she wants a 2-door) in that range in really good condition i wouldnt pay more that 6 grand. That's 325is, not 318is.
