| Who has the most powerful E30 Now I am only talking about your cars, Not Randy Sparre or some german guy with twin turbo S38 engine, have you dynoed your car for the results or are they your estimated figures, NOTE: I am well aware that BMW´s are not drag cars and street racers and whatnot, I am also familiar with the fact that E30´s are fun cars, not power houses, So don´t come here to bitch about me not talking about handling and other important factors in a cars drivability. I personally have a S50B30 Euro engine and since I am going to have it dynoed on Saturday I have a estimate of around 290hp at the flywheels, the engine is stock at the moment but a piggy-back unit goes in soon. I personally want a low hp figure from the Dyno, that will mean that my car has got alot of potential, even with the crazy power it has now. Here is me fiddling with it.

| Drive a EARLY 70's 930 with a Turbo upgrade. Power is NOTHING with out control! I just got a lowly 4cylinder putting down 215rwhp with out forced induction.

| I'll take a pic of my dyno graph tonight.. 249.1rwhp/221.2rwtq on a built S50 3.2L US. However, looks like i'm about to redo the head with a solid-lifter valvetrain, Schrick cams, oversize intakes valves, and maybe even a header.. so we'll see what happens. I've taken out an E55 AMG, i run door to door with my friends SMG E46.. also taken C5 non-Z06, and various others. |

| Not on the board, but a guy on the SIG posted a 253rwhp in his 2.5l "street" S14. Thats a good 330 flywheel hp out of a NA S14. Wow.

| >>>Not on the board, but a guy on the SIG posted a 253rwhp in his 2.5l "street" S14. Thats a good 330 flywheel hp out of a NA S14. Wow.<<< Ralph's car? If so that is a 2.3 sprint race motor with 13.5 :1 compression running straight race gas, fully worked head, knife edged crank, paperweight flywheel, etc, etc. . But he still has that nasty AFM in place, so more is possible!!! Probably not too streetable using pump gas. Likely another chip would be needed. I wish that more folks had performance measurements on their cars. Cuz peak numbers can get confusing. And then there is gearing. At the moment my car does easy 5.8 0-60s with potential for going 2-3 tenths quicker with some practice getting off the line. Or a grippier road!! Cuz the launch is so *very* crucial. 60-90 MPH in 3rd takes about 5.3 seconds. It does 60-100 MPH in around 8.2 seconds using 3rd/4th. That's a 0-100 MPH time of about 14 flat, with potential for high 13s against a stocker's 19.5 seconds. An E46 M3 can break 12 seconds to 100 MPH (although some reports show 12.8) and a CSL is supposed to do it in 11 flat. My best 1/4 mile is a 14.17 / high 90s MPH with a 2.26 60 foot time. I think it can potentially do a bit better as I have more top end HP now. Not to mention that some have done 2.0 60 foot times - that would cut about 2 tenths right there. When I check the datalogger, the best 0-30 times are when I maintained what I thought at the time was moderate wheelspin but for too long - for much of first gear. Theoretically if you can mantain about 10% slip (wheel rpm 10% higher than the noslip RPM) you'd get the best results. Lowered cars likely don't launch well due to camber. | Here's a place that shows "Cartest" predicted acceleration times for various starting and ending speeds. Good for benchmarking. http://www.car-videos.com/performance/ Stan Last edited by Stan : 11-25-2002 at 03:16 PM. |

| I have around 325hp at the wheels. I have not had the car dynoed yet but that is what it made on the previous owner's car(chuck stickley). He had the same setup I have now us 3.2 obd 1 . My car has s50 3.2 w/ obd 1, Vortech V-1(6 psi), 30# inj., euro hfm, custom software, 3" exhaust from header back, high flow cat, supersprint muffler, 3.46 LSD. I am getting the car tuned soon so I will post the numbers. I ran the car at englishtown and got a 13.4 @ 107. The 60' time was bad 2.4 and my clutch was slipping real bad once I hit 3rd. With a new clutch I could probably get into mid to high 12's. I know these cars aren't made for drag racing but just wanted to see what it would do. Alex, how much more power do you think you will make with the new additions? carl |
