someone put down like 350 + out of a turbo m20 but that was at something like 17 psi. It may have been a built 2.8 with a turbo i forget......and they weren't on this board.

yup

someone on here posted 433 RWP out of a turbo M20 at somthing like 19 PSI, he had picks of his car up somewhere.

I personally want a low hp figure from the Dyno, that will mean that my car has got alot of potential, even with the crazy power it has now.

Here is me fiddling with it.


randy's car is nothing special, i know him personally and tell him 24/7 about how i love his car, but all it is is just a us spec m3 engine converted to OBD1 with a blower...stock motor with a blower! how special is that? randy's car puts prob 300 to the wheels im estimating..

either way, as much as i love randys car, for what it is, it doesnt impress me, he didnt do shit for himself, he just signed checks.

for me thats what its all about, its just not the same if someone else does YOUR work.

I do 95% of all my work to my project car (with the only exception being some welding ( i dont have a welder) and the paintjob (i dont have equipment or facilites)) For me this is what its all about, I WILL be proud of my car, because its MINE, my blood and soul was poured into every last bit of it!

Well a few months ago >>>>>

I was driving around and see this older 1986-1987 E30 BMW with dual exhaust on it. He was at a stop light and his car sounded like no BMW I have ever heard. I pull up next to him and tell him to pull over. He pulls over and I ask him about his dual exhaust setup, he says that it is a true dual setup. I say that can only be true if you have another engine in it. He says YES I have a modded 1993 Mustang Cobra 5.0 engine in it. He opens the hood and there it is in all its beauty !!!! Supposedly he said that the Mustang engine with aluminum heads and the ford 5 speed tranny he had in it weighs within a few pounds of the stock inline 6 he had in there and that he weighed it both. He installed the engine himself and it looked really nice, sounded mean too. He said that he and his buddies had installed Chevy 350's in the BMW E30's a few times and he wanted to be different and put in a mustang motor. He was from Vermont but just recently moved down here. If I remember correctly I think he said that he dynoed around 325 RWHP which is about 380 hp at the crank. He also either has a 100 or 150 shot nitrous. He said earlier that week he had cruised the local rice hang out looking for a race. He met some guy with a turbo Talon/Eclipse that the guy said that he does high 11's on the in 1/4 mile, he said that the fastest he ever ran was 12.3 on street tires and no nitrous, so they decided to street race. Well according to the guy he beat the Talon/Eclipse pretty bad and that the other driver was pretty pissed, he said that he could not really find out actuallyhow fast his car is because according to track rules he needed a roll cage for the times he was getting and approaching. So that is the most HP I have seen in a E30. If the owner of this car is reading this, mad props to you and your car, you have a real sleeper !!!!!! God Bless.

I personaly think that anyone who would put a non BMW engine into an E30 is complete idiot. They have no respect for what it truely is. To me it's a major rice peice of shit thing to do. I also have a major bias against ford's so that may add to my frustration. To me this is like the idiot who put a GTR badge on his mustang and told the camera(this was all in the Mischief 3000 video) that it had a rotary with a turbo.

Ok let's just stop the whole non-BMW engine swap discussion right now before this thread turns to shit.

In Randy's defense since yall are cold-cockin' him.. he has a badass ride, and though the styling isn't my taste, he's one of the first guys i know of that did an SC'd setup. And his motor is nowhere near stock.. he's got every possible bolt on and even cams.. and what's so special about a US motor? Fukc, what's so special about a Euro motor? Other than it costs 3 legs to modify and no one make dick for it this side of the pond..

Who is Randy Sparre???hmm quick E30: ok my friend kilander *i with a E30 88 with a M5 3.8 turbo engine wich produces very muck power i dont dare to talk about hp here..

And my other friend Andreas with a M40 turbo engine with Holset HX40 turbo *our trucks i sweden lika Scania/volvo have Holset HX40 turbos* his best time: 10.89 210+KMH he has aprox 550hp calculated with the moroso (?) stick..

I aim at about 550-600 Rwhp

*i have pics of both gentelmens engines if someone want*

well dont forget me..i was defendin my pal randy (on euro_pimp's account)! but his pistons are stock...i held his blown pistons in my hand to learn about how its blown n shit...anyways, randy's bimmer is one of the sickest e30's hands down..and he did a lot of the work himself, randy knows more than anyone i know about motors and shit so i wouldnt say he is a check writer...just for example, how do you know dado did all his work? how do you know anyone else did their work? im not bad mouthing dado or anything for that matter its only an example....i really hate when people bad mouth other peoples ride on shit they dont know, and esp after they dump 60g's into his car and hours of HARD WORK!

I used to have an E30 in HS. God bless that car, I had to get rid of her before college. I wish I could get her back.

All this brings back memories of that car. I drove that car hard every single day and it still purrrrred for me when I started her up.
