| Links to E30 specs, pics, parts etc. pls & thnx hi, i my name is Bing. i am currently a 240sx owner, and a long time member of many forums, so i know how little a response threads like this receive, i'll try and make it quick. upon building the suspension on my 240 i found the 10+ year old frame couldnt quite handle it. though i may opt for another 240 and swap all my parts, i have always lusted after an E30. my father has always loved BMW's and has owned several (E30's, 2002's etc.) though not lately on account of myself and 3 other children. we tesetd an 86 325es several years back, and before i bought my 240 a few years ago i tested a 325is with an ecu upgrade (not sure which one), i would have purchased it but it had been unsatisfactorily repaired from a prior accident. TO CUT TO THE CHASE.... i am in the market for a solid 88+ 325is, however before i break the bank i want to do as much research on the car as i can. my points of interest are HP, TRQ, curb weight, weight dist, bolt patterns, stock speaker sizes, and all available options. after browsing the forum i found that there are several different options available between 88-91. i dont expect anyone to do my research for me, though i was hoping i could be provided with links to detailed specs, pics of 325/318 is models (not stock), and links to reputable on-line stores for BMW parts, preferrably canadian. oh and let me defend my self in advance: s13 240sx, 155hp, 160 lbs/ft Torque, 52/48 weight dist, no parts available at 7-11 thanks in adavnce, i look forward to being an E30 owner and a part of these boards.

| well, thank you for reading all that, i know it was long. yeah there are a few mods to the 240: KYB AGX adjustables Tokico drop springs F&R strut braces Apexi N-1 dual cat back hi-flow cat -------------- you'll note no engine mods really because it's SR-20 all the way if i get another 240. all these parts are coming off in the next 2 weeks and the stereo is being picked apart as well --------------- i been all over the place, but still cant find a basic spec sheet on the 87-91 e30's.

| bing, this was posted in the "325e, 325i, 325is" thread by stu mc. Speaking of keeping things helpful in nature, I will go ahead and answer the originators question, instead of amateurs convincing him of horseshit horsepower claims to which no one gives a damn about. So, let's keep it objective from here on. AMG- The 325e and 325i both have a variant of BMW's "M20" engine. The 325e version (known as the ETA) is a 2.7L stroker version with a very low-flowing throttle body, intake manifold, cylinder head, an extremely mild cam (235 degree), weak valve springs, and a choker of an exhaust system. The motor makes good torque down low, but that is all it offers. The E cars also have very long gearing, with nothing numerically higher than a 2.93 out of the factory. The 325i engine, is a different story. It is a 2.5L with a 60mm throttle body, big intake runners, a much better designed head, a hotter cam (265deg), a nice dual 1 7/8 exhaust system, and 3.73 gearing. It makes a lot more horsepower, and similar torque. However, it lacks the low-end of an E, because the 325i motor is a real BMW engine and should spend most of its time over 4000 RPM, whereas an E motor requires a shift at around 4500. The only downside to the 325i is the bottomend. It is a 2.5L, but a stroker (2.8, 3.0, or 3.1) bottomend can be installed, and horsepower figures of well over 230hp are accessible. The 325is is the "sport" model of the 325i, which has nicer Recaro-style seats, slightly stiffer suspension, a standard LSD, spoilers, BBS wheels, etc. There is also a 325es, which includes basicly the same sport options as a 325is. Same goes for the '91 318is. Hope this helps.
