need a lil help from the experienced e30 drivers

ok i dont know where to start but i have a 325e (1987) with a little short of 400,000 miles on it. so ofcourse some of the mechanical parts are gonna start ta wear. i just broke the shifter off last week now thats taken care of and it shifts nice but it got my attention....if that just broke what else is gonna go? im tryin ta figure out what else should i expect to break.... gotta new clutch and transmission recently. a new fuel pump is bieng put on now. i ve already put a lot of money into the car. im also hookin it up. so im kinda tryin ta figure out what else may break so i can go ahead and replace it and what is a good engine conversion to start looking for, and what bigger alternator can fit? i love this car so please dont post about me gettin an m3 or another bmw. im keepin this one =) ill post pics around sept when erything is done.

replacing every last rubber bushing wouldnt be a bad idea, can and will drasticaly restore handling

Also replace your coolant hoses, fuel lines & clamps, fuel filter, brake hoses, main & aux. relays, etc.

400k miles? Sounds like it needs a new e30!! Unless you have receipts showing recent changes of alot of things, I would venture to guess that you will spend as much fixing that beast as you might spend on another one with less than 200k, or maybe even less than 150k if you shop around. I hope you didn't pay much for it.

take a look at that suspension. thrust rods, control arms and tie rods would make for good replacements. steering rack and radiator deserve a peek too.

yea i got the updated ac, i have eibach and boge's comin in smoked light conversion front and back. ummm ill see about the timing belt, and i tihnk need a new instrument cluster.. and for the other person sayin i need ta get another i like this one and dont mind spending the money and yea u are right i could have bought a newer one alreadt

Make sure the chassis doesn't have any rust happening.

I would put extra emphasis on making the timing belt is in order. Make sure its been done in the last 60,000 at least... if it breaks, youre in it for a new engine just like that.
