| a friend of mine wanted to make his 325eta breathe and put an M20 head that had been cleaned up on it in aust we only had the e engines for 18 months between the 323i and 325i and it was a fiddled head off one of those two that he used with the extra capacity of 2.7 from the e it went well since this is 15 years ago i would have to check the specifics with him if your interested |

| 325i head from M20 bolts onto 2.7 eta and revs hard with the added torque of the 2.7s longer stroke does work really well, i will be seeing him at bmw club meeting this weekend and will get all the details for you and once its done your car will come right on song around 4000rpm and bolt through to 7000 rather than running out of breath in the mid 4s like the etas normally do....cheers |

| Lots of misinformation here. The 2.5 i head will bolt to the e block without any problems. You will need to use the i intake and exhaust manifold along with the i engine wiring harness. Without doing anything else, the compression of the engine will be around 8.0-1. To raise the compression you can the pistons out of the 88 eta engine, or have some made to regain what you lost. That's with the M20b25 "i" head. If you can get whole of an 323i head it will not drop your compression like the i head will. You are also best to run the 173 DME with some sort of chip to make up for the displacement difference.
