| Well the 2.7 rad. works its just that the ports on the rad. are in the wrong spots the driver hose is on the bottom and the pass. is at the top i need the opposite. Why do you think i would need a diffrent water pump? |
| |||
| because the entire system was revised when they changed radiators. on yours the coolant resevoir feeds the h20 pump. on the late model it feeds into the tstat area. everythings on the wrong side of the engine bay. you would need hella long radiator hoses and all that would be running between the radiator and engine. not much room there. so, h20 pump, resevoir hose, return hose and radiator at least. if you wanted to do it right you'd get the metal cross pipe too. really not worth it, i don't think theres anything to be gained from it.

| Yea my top hose comes off the top of the engine,And the bottom comes off the pass. side kinda There is a hose that hooks up to the t-stat housing on the middle part under the intake then splits and goes t-stat housing then inside car. |

| sounds like you have the late model stuff then, i get caught up in looking at your info on the right and seeing "86 325e", which is different. if your lower hose is on the right then you are golden, lots of options for radiators. yeah, all 6 cylinder e36 radiators (325i/s, m3, 328, 323, no four bangers, they fit but why a smaller radiator) will straight fit in, they are the same radiators really. the nice thing is the e36 has ALUMINUM radiator options, or more of them, and for a more reasonable price. austra, 87 "i" cars were a weird lil hybrid in a way, old school h20 pump and radiator setup and no quick disconnect for the injection rail/tstat wiring on the engine harness. i call that little plug under the intake of the 88-on m20's the "zipper connector". ![]() rough running, clean throttle body, check for a vacuum leak on the #6 intake gasket.
