which e30 ?

hey all,

im from Perth in Western Australia down under. i used to own an e30 318i a few years ago, then went onto a subaru gt forester, then a holden commodore ss with an ls1 and fair few mods to get it pumping along nicely.

anyway ive since sold the commodore and im looking into another e30. im thinking something along the lines of either 323, 325i or 325e. what are everyones thoughts ? def want a manual. just want to know any problems associated with these cars and in terms of bang for buck and future modding which one would have the most potential ? im thinking if going a small turbo kit just to get it going a bit quicker, some quality suspension and braking setup and just a nice neat clean minimalist interior. 16" rims with quality rubber and just a straight body is all the plans i would have for it.

what are peoples thoughts on the 3 models of the e30 i mentioned ? obviously perth is a little bit more expensive than other parts of the country and even world for modding, but that wont be an issue for me.

fire away.

cheers

325i or M3, I wouldn't even waste your time with any other models.

cheers from the U.S.,

if you are going to change a lot of mechanicals and build a turbo, might be worth saving the money and purchasing a 323i over a 325i, given the difference in cost between them. Or perhaps look at a 325e for the block if going a stroker route + turbo.

Start with the modifications you want to perform, it will help the decision on which car to start with as a base.

basically going to start with mostly getting it running strong and get the body nice and straight and the interior looking clean and simple and all that. then later on go the turbo route i think. would 323i or 325i be better ?

how big is the fuel tank in litres in these cars, and how many kays do ppl usually get on average also from them ? say regular driving and with wat mods you have ? anything more then 450km from a 60L tank from my commo and ill be happy

For me B23 and B25 is good choice.

If you're with M40B18 now, you'll feel quite change.

My E21 is with M20B20, but I'm looking for M20b23 or M20B25, so it's good idea to me. But if you want more power, M50 is better.
