E30, with M3 swap???

i have a 89 e30 325ix 4wd, can i do a m3 swap and make it rear wheel drive? if so how hard is it?

What exactly do you mean by an M3 swap? M3 motor and drivetrain?

If you ix is in decent condition you would most likely be better off selling it, they are always in demand, and putting the money towards an M3.

Go SR20DET and save half of that money for 300 HP.

i thought about the whole Sr20det, my buddy has one of those in his nissan 240sx, its a nice motor but i bught a Bimmer to start something new, not an import. I have a 97 civic hatch with a fully built motor swap and all that stuff, but i wanna do something nice, and not so flashy like that, but if i stay with the IX which i will, where can i get another motor for it, and what are some good sites for aftermarket parts?

here are your best options:

A. Keep the IX, with it's motor, and allow it to appreciate because they're getting harder to find and more and more valuable.

B. Sell the IX and find pretty much any other model E30 and do your "M3 swap" with the cash you get. I would recommend the S52 from the E36, because it's way too complicated with the S54 (wiring harness, VANOS, etc.)

C. Be a badass, keep the IX and do the remainder of option B. Best of both worlds.
