| Broken timing belt in teh bimmer... well, driving in new hartford the other night, doin 45 in 5th gear, my car suddenly lost all power, and i could hear valves...not good. i assumed timing belt, and was hoping i shut her down before too much happend...i was wrong. i have no compression in 4 out of 6 cylinders, and a broken rocker arm where the valve got bitchslapped by the piston...i haven't pulled the head yet, but i'm dreading what happend to the pistons...keep ya posted ![]() ![]()

| Hey if you're interested I have all the valves, rocker arms, springs, camshafts and seals for a 1989 325i...I just replaced the head on mine, the old one had a crack so it was completely taken apart...I was going to post all parts for sale on eBay...if you're interested E-mail me at fmmahadin@hotmail.com. |

| General rule of thumb is every 60,000 miles or 4 years, or if you wake up one morning with a baaaaaaad feeling in your gut and you can't remember how long it's been since you did it last ![]() good luck with your project. |

| head i bought my cabbie 2 years ago with same situation.previus owner just kept using it until it stopped.it happened i have a spare head ready to install.i have onother one that is clean,complete.lmk |
