| Lowering an E30 Hi guys... Will an E30 M3 springs fit into a E30 319i 4 door sedan? I am planning to lower my car but looking at 3/4" rather than the normal 1" to 1.5" by H&R or Eibach. Please advise. Oldkool |

| afaik m3 springs are different to the regular non m e30 springs. they might fit but they'll be all buggered up you might struggle to get a 3/4" drop without going for custom made springs. any reason why you only want 3/4"? my black car has been dropped around 2" and its fine

| you can chop them but its a really stupid idea. ruins the ride, car bounces everywhere, springs are probalby more likely to sag because they've lost part of their structure and strength. i can't warn you enough to not chop your springs. sprinsg are pretty bloody cheap anyway, new they're about a couple of hundred fitted, get em second hand and you shouldn't be more than about a hungee out of hand

| depedns on what you're using the car for. don't go pedders. they're dodgy money grabbing bastards. i'm running kings in my car. they're pretty good for daily use but they're a bit too soft for the track. if you're not doing hard track work though i'd reccomend them. eibach make good springs. they're a little harder than kings and cost a bit more but they are a bit better from all reports i've heard. ireland engineering springs seem to be quite good but you'll have to bring them in from the us. that can get expensive. they're bloody good though!

| My E30 had King springs all round. Handled like a dream and I personally found they weren't too hard. I had on the front, some very low pedders. They were softer but bloody low. I am off loading them infact. King Springs I recommend. Cheap - yes, but good bang for your buck.

I had Kings on my E36 before but i took it out as it sagged further down so im kinda staying away from them but if its the only way to get a cheap and reasonable springs i'll maybe reconsider but with a bit of clearance if they sag. But with reagards to Eibach how much would they cost as i know Kings will be around $280 for front and rear.

| kings have a lifetime warranty against sagging and have had for a long time afaik! maybe something to consider in there. eibachs are $50-$70 more than kings i think but don't quote me on that.

| the reason why I am lowering with such a specific height is due the roads and bumps over here in Malaysia. My wife crack the oil pan previously. Most of the after markets springs are about 1.5" to 2" drop with is bad for me especially if you are taking a load behind. Thanks a lot guys for sharing this info with me. JonE30 hope the M3 springs really fits man. |
