| Metal CNC E30 wide body kits anyone? (NYC) Hello everyone, I'd like to get some E30's together here, near NYC or North East, (I’m in Manhattan but work in Brooklyn NYC) to see if anyone else is interested in a full metal wide body kit to fit ANY tire size you want for your E30’s. I'll be building a set of improved E30 kits in the next couple months and would like to line up some cars to install them in since it makes it far more worth my time as well as cheaper for everyone. I'm considering a 245/45 17 front and 275 OR 265/40/17 rears for my car, that way, keeping the ABS balance integrity since they are all within same diameter tires. Kits will be OPEN intake and exhaust vents on the side connecting to the underbody to extract much of the air that passes underneath (yes all under strict aerodynamic scrutiny), Access for oil cooling, improved underbody Aerodynamics, as well as to fit larger tires without any body rub, below is a shot of what I'm thinking of doing, it's Photoshop but it illustrates it well, the picture was altered to simulate the tires sizes etc, I work doing this to other victims... errs... I mean clients (hehehe) so I do know it's very possible to accomplish. We have full fabrication access to the best metal shop in Brooklyn (Amorphous studios, CNC, Plasma cutting, Acetylene, MIG, TIG, Powder coating, sand blasting etc.) as well as a well equipped body shop with a well working booth for paint. Kits would most likely be installed at our shop (Alfa Imports Center) it's a fully equipped mechanical Race prep shop for Italian sports cars etc. Let me Know how many of you are interested to start gathering a group of lets say five to ten orders. Of course I can do this for any car but I think my car deserves the kit, (smiles) I want to keep the kit bellow 1300 Dollars since I'm turbo charging this summer (engine is being taken apart starting this weekend). Paint and other alterations are up to you; I do this for a living so I hope not to waste anyone's time including my own. So again: - Full CNC cut metal E30 kits - Professionally done by experienced mechanics and fabricators to your tire specs or personal taste, needs etc. - Priced bellow 1300 (per kit). - Installed, with a limited warrantee or purchase full warrantee on labor and parts etc. your choice for up to 2 yrs coverage (dirt cheap). - Willing to work with your specs and needs. - All fitted to your tires, suspension and rims so no guess work or rubbing. - I'll be doing this to my car regardless so stay tuned. Let me know and keep on motoring wild. Best wishes, Tag PS: look at myspace link for some pics of my work, also in the Alfa Import center’s site... and yes.. I am an insomniac... ![]() http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...ndid=144055731 http://www.alfaimportcenter.com/ |

| LOL..I know, I hate the net life, I have hardly any time for emails James... lol If it weren't cause I smashed my thumb I'd be working right now lol. thanks for the link too, I should have looked for some DTM pages there... ![]() Regarding the look of it, The M3 picture above is widenned to simulate 275's rear and 245's front on 16-17 rims, I know it looks like a bit stock but the rear end of the design is very different than that on the M3 E30 as well as a different underbody configuration altogether. If you guys don't mind I'll post one of a stock M3 and the design I'd like to make for comparison front, and rear of each for comparing. Indeed, it is a serious offer all the shops involved as well as myself are reputable (at least in my little Alfa Romeo and fabrication circles) I just want to keep costs low and it seems to do that if I cut a few kits on the CNC and line a couple cars for paint etc, also materials are cheaper if I get larger amounts. I know I'll probably (pfts most likely!) loose money on the fabrication but if I can line up some cars, the installation would even out my costs for time and effort. Honestly I'll be doing this to my car no matter what, so it would be nice to recoup some money on the initial investment, trust me folks this is a lot of work, I'v done a few before on Alfas and I do understand what it involves. I'll post pictures later on today on here as well as my page for all to see but have to go order my head gasket and other parts to start taking the engine apart on my car this weekend, yeye! ![]() |

Kit looks very interesting. What is the approximate weight of the panels you will be producing?

| Sorry for not rightfully continuing the thread but have been swamped at work if you look at the link to myspace from profile you'll see what I've been doing (69 Alfa Romeo GT this and next week) anyhow, my 327 stroker is going fine, lots of pics on myspace of the cracked Super ETA head, the new "i" head, 272 cam etc. since it's not going to be hard to produce more cars after I do this to mine I figure I'll just save the CNC program if anyone is interested after they see mine, I'll be happy to cut and pre assemble some to ship out. I have a pic of the rear area now if you guys would like to see on here, cheers, I'll definatly keep you posted.Tag PS the weight is only a few ounces more per pannel than factory e30 M3 ones, since they are just a bit wider, the CNC cutting allows me to have very few welds, hence the weight is virtually the same. And oh... the areas under the pannels are indeed cut off as well so very little weight is added overall, maybe 1/2 pound per side F/R, 22 gauge metal is not that heavy, most of the weight in a car comes from suspension and moving parts (drivetrain, engine tranny etc,) these would also fit the M3 but would make more sense in a regular e30, the open design , again is to try and pull as much of the underside air as possible and placing it in the trailing end of the pressure created by the car.
