ahhhh. You mean a 325e bottom end and a 325i head. You need to get pistons, since JUST putting the "i" head will lower compression to unacceptable levels. Go easy on him, guys. We were all newbs at some point.

I would just go with custom pistons. Ive got Wiseco's in the ///M3. Or you can always do J.E.That way you can set your own CR, and while youre at it get some Pauter rods. Might as well do it right.

Please don't take offence to this, but if you are asking question like thins, I'm guessing that a serious engine rebuild (or the funds for it when we're talking custom rods and pistons) is not in the immediate future. If that is the case (primarily the funds and finding all the specs for the pistons), then there IS another answer to this. BMW did a lot of the work for you in '88. The 1988 eta was basically a Super Eta. It had the larger bottom end with the 'i' head. There are a few was to trick it out from there (different computer, fully swap all the rest of the 'i' bits in), but you have the main guts of the motor. If you can find one of THESE cars in the yards or for sale for cheap, then you're well on your way.

I believe one of the main issues holding the Super Eta back from being a monster was the ECU, although someone will hopefully chime in here. Mariano maybe?

im with the new guy i keep reading all about these super Es but know one realy says anything besides 2.7 bottom end with a I head. what do u need to do it and is it costly because i just got my 88 es and well i feel like it just needs more.

Question 88 super e with 89 325i parts

ok so i have a super clean 88 super eta but what more power! but i also have a half way decient 89 325i with a good condition engine.


ive heard super e with i parts like the cams and head can make a sweet ride... so what should i do?
o and i plan on turboing it very soon too.
