| Yeah, if you like it who the f*ck cares what other people think. Lower it for sure, you wont be disappointed. I dont hate chrome as much as some of these ppl, but I think they should probably be changed, the design isnt too great for that car. Aluminum would be a better choice. Dropped an inch it would definately look much better, and the ride wont be that much worse at all. The spoiler at least needs to be painted, because I think Pep Boys unpainted spoiler on a CRX when i see that. Guage choice is interesting to say the least, but if it works for you, it works. The ebrake should be changed back to stock though, it looks rather out of place. I dont know what your tastes are though, and I'm just saying what I would do.

| with a little work you could have a really nice lookin' car. as jordan stated, there are some things that would do wonders for it, losing the chrome being one of those things. although, if you like it, keep it. but don't expect much support from the guys concerning those wheels.

| NA motors care about A/F just as much as a FI one. I had it back before I even had my 2.8l because I was having issues with my 2.5 running off the charts lean (fuel injectors maxed out) I also cannot stand heat blowing on my face. I can still have both sides function if I so desire. The loss of the center heat vent is not nearly as epic as you depict it. Last edited by CleanAzzE30z; 05-09-2005 at 01:11 PM.. |

| I know NA motors care about A/F but i dont see a need for your car to have a A/F gauge but its not my car. Last edited by CleanAzzE30z; 05-09-2005 at 01:12 PM.. |

| Okay, this is really getting a little rediculous. Just opinion, but I think things would be a lot smoother on here if everyone would stop arguing over petty bullshit. I'm not going to take anyone's side here, however I do have a couple of thoughts... 1st, There is nothing wrong with having and A/F gauge. Some people may find it useless, but I think there are a lot of merits to using one. If a fuel injector clogs and the engine leans out, it would be a great first line indicator that you have a problem. Many race cars that I have seen do use these, but not all. It really depends on you and your focus. Some race teams rebuild engines after every race and the engine management systems records the info for download after the race. 2nd, placement is an opinion. Bottom line, put it where you like it and it works best for you. My opinion, and many competitive drivers for that matter, like to have their gauges as close to inline with the road as possible, that way they can quickly get data from them without even really having to move their head. It allows the driver to gain maximum data acquisition without losing their focus with the road. At high speeds, losing that focus can be dangerous. If you don't look at the gauges very often, that position on the center console may work just fine for you. 3rd, I won't go quite as far as Mark to say that your car is ghetto looking. I actually like the color very much. There's a guy in Sacramento (Aaron Silva) that has a 318ic that is that color and it is amazing. The chrome isn't my taste with that particular color, but if you like it...great. It's your car, not anyone elses. MrHennarot is exactly right. You won't please everyone, so don't try...do what makes you enjoy the car most. You see it everyday. Jordan, no one who has seen you around the forums for any length of time will dispute that you possess a great deal of e30 knowledge, have excellent mechanical ability, and do contribute a great deal, but a little tact goes a long way. I'm not going to say anything further.

| The vast majority (read most, but not all) of the very nice cars on this forums were not built by thier owners. The biggest involvement these owners had in building their car was taking pictures of the progress and writing checks as the car came along. I do not see any reason to be jealous of such a car. Now if you are jealous of such a person and their car that is your business. Personally I take pride in doing 99.9% of my own work, with exceptions very far and few between. That underlying fact, along with a sweet car, is what makes a vehicle enviable in my opinion. To take a few words from Nicolas Cage in Gone in 60 Seconds. "There's too many self-indulgent wieners on this forum with too much bloody money!" Perhaps spending twice the value of the e36/e46 base car in mods and assorted other items to make a "Siiiiiiick" car as many here would say impresses you, but it doesn't impress me, and it certainly doesn't make me jealous. I respect workmanship, and if you cannot understand that concept then to hell with you. Now none of this is meant to insult or inflame anyone. Its just me voicing my opinion for what its worth with hopes you will comprehend and understand it. Last edited by CleanAzzE30z; 05-09-2005 at 01:16 PM.. |

| Its hooked up to a new OE Bosch O2 sensor. I don't need a wideband for the kind of readings I'm looking for. I just need to know if I'm running lean, or rich. Wideband would be nice, but I have little use for the higher acuracy, nor do I see the point in spending ~450+ on a decent setup. |

| You guys are crazy, why should anyone be jealous of someone elses car? Be proud of what you currently have, don't let it fall to shit and buy something you can be more proud of later, or MAKE something you can be proud of when you have the money. Being jealous of other peoples cars is weak sauce.

![]() Ask for opinions and sometimes, unfortunately, you dont get the answer youre looking for.....deal with it. Everyone for fucks sake, STOP making every fucking thread about Jordan and his opinions and stick to the fucking topic of the thread. Pretty fucking please? P.S. I agree with the removal of the heavy chromies, and the painting of the front spoiler. I never liked the E30 ///M3-ish wing on regular E30s, but you could have done far worse. All in all, the cars not bad besides the chrome. Its got plenty of potential, thats for sure. Being honest. And a good day to all of you ![]()

The way cars with narrowband sensors work is they compare the current state of tune at light throttle/light load conditions, then adjust accordingly. The ECU actually ignores sensor output outside of these conditions. They work off the premise that if the base settings are correct, the entire map will be correct and the car will function correctly right through the entire rev range. Of course, it doesnt work that way, but there is nothing you can do about it. Using a narrow band sensor for monitoring mixtures is like using a magnifying glass to view the horses at a race track, you cant see shit.
