Hell yea AWD!! those things are rare as!
When the E30 was still being produced, BMW experimented with an AWD system and a very limited number of cars were built. They have an X denomination on the back to mark them as AWD cars.... so a regular 325i becomes a 325Xi with the AWD components...
I would give just about anything to find a genuine AWD BMW kit for my little E30. It would make it a very impressive track car indeed!

Actually it was the 325ix. We have of them here in the states. They are high and have some side skirts thats extend to part of the fender. Cool rare cars.

Where and what continent is Canberra on? Probably the 325ix wasn't sent there due to the fact it wasn't need over there......maybe you have beautiful weather year round?

HAhahaha i wish... Canberra is the capital of Australia. I think its just cos we are such an out of the way country that back in the 80's no one would have thought about sending a 325ix all the way out here.

I think BM Auto Engineering in WA can do AWD conversions.

They had an e30 touring listed for sale recently and mentioned that 4wd conversions were available...

might be worth looking into???

I am interested to find out if the car is an original JPS or a replica.
It's a black coupe with a gold pin stripe. The car has been off the road for many years and alot of bits were robbed so it's hard to pick it's originality.
Can some one help me with any info?
Hi All!

I now have this car (along with Peto) and am still trying to get some details and, if anyone is interested, maybe a buyer...

I have confirmed that it has a M20B25 - 168hp version (256K). It does however have all black cam cover and inake manfold with a Bavarian Motorsports Throttle body - who knows what lies beneath.

The car is now back drivable and is all good except for a small hole in the centre muffler. I also have a bunch of pics I could post if anyone is interested...

Still not sure if it is an original JPS - it has the stripes and the seats, but obviously the engine is not standard.

I'm in melbourne, does anyone know any very knowledgable BMW mechanics/guys who might be able to help work it out?
