| IX engine to IS chassis... ok, i have posted on r3vlimited, but really really need more opinions and facts (no offense to r3v) anyway.., i have a 1986 325is.. in a nut shell, i am looking for a new engine.. i found a reasonable priced engine, it only has 75k miles on it.. and it was from a 1990 325ix.. the guy is going to pull it out of car for my first thign tom morning. so i need to know how much of a hassel this is really going to be.. if i put this IX engine into my IS car, what probs will i run into trying to do it? i know i need to swap the oil pan and the oil pump.. someone said something about having a prob with the dipstick and someone mentions the motor mounts are different,, if motor mounts are dif. can i use the mounts off my IS? basically i need to know if this engine is even worth it, will it be to much of a headache. only things are, i really need an engine ASAP, and a low mileage m20b25 is very hard to find.. thanks.. |
