| He's asking 7g's because that paint is brand new, It's clean and sweet. The paint aint cheap. At least that is my guess, I would give him on the high end of 5g's for it, but as a true e30 enthuiest, I would get something like an is, which I did, and build something sweet myself. If your looking for a car that gets decent milage and not looking to put alot of your own work into, then sure, get this car. It's very nice for an 85. |

| Thanks BimmerEtoIs, My asking price is 7,000 but i also said that i would considered any reasonable offer. The car is in really good shape and i dont see many that are in this great shape and maintain as well as my is, being that i am i BMW tech. and my father is a shopforman for over 30 years. |

| There is no hostility here, Joe. The asking price for any non-///M E30 especially an eta (which I have as well, so Im not hating, just being realistic) almost never passes like 5.5-6K unless its got some sort of transplant. Were not trying to bring you down. Were just saying what is realistic and what people expect to pay, and were not even talking about non-BMW enthusiasts of which wouldnt expect to pay more than 3K for something that they see was made in 1985. Those people are also wrong because they think that the end-all be-all gauge of price is age and not mileage. They cant get over the fact that its old, in their eyes. "If its old it must me crap" most people think, not seeing that the M20 and most all BMWs of the 80's (that I know of) are bulletproof, but the M20 more so due to its unbelievable ability to take 15 years of beatings and still run after 200K miles.

| i dont mean to sound hostile i am just want to sell my car. i understand that its a 20 year old car and has some mileage. But i know of many people that buy e30 and e34 for cheap, like $1500 or $2,000 then put over $5,000 in just to make the car drivable. This car has almost every thing maintaince and drivablity wise done to it, by me Bmw tech. But like after taking so of what we've guys have said i will drop the price to $6,000. I really must say that the car is a real eye catcher to the person that understands what they are looking at. |

| When it comes down to it there is just nothing special about the car. Its a 85 ETA. One of the very least desirable e30's. Its all fine and good that you put new paint on it, but that really doesn't increase its resale value much. You won't ever move that car at $6k. You would be lucky IMO to get $4k. |

| Listen Bitichin'e30, i dont know whats up with you, you got a problem with me and my car. i didn't put it up here to get insulted, i just want sell my car. |

| He is just being honest with you man. Even here where E30s go for more than they should be worth MY car wouldnt pull that and I have a full european conversion, new paint, new (sport) interior, Alpina stuff, and a S50 engine. You just dont get what you put into a car out of it. It doesnt happen unless its something really rare. Its a really nice and what appears to be very loved car but that doesnt change the fact that i is the third least desirable E30 brought to the US. Best of luck selling it but I would have to agree that you will have to entertain offers unless you get really lucky. Also what street is that? I know there are a lot of restored brownstones but I swear I puked on that street. Down by the village IIRC. Last edited by withnoname : 12-06-2004 at 05:47 PM. |

| If your father is a shop foreman and the car has been maintained perfectly then you should be able to take 5900.00 in NH with the new paint and mintness. Looks nice to me, cool color and all. Buying a straight E30 is near impossible and to an educated buyer (read: not some clown internet nerd) a car that will not need an immediate cash IV is the best deal in the long run. Alpina replicas, nice 87 front splitter with new fogs, all work done by a master tech, you have a chance man, just wait for it. An older smarter buyer will go for it, this is not the advertising medium you are looking for.

I'm just telling you the same thing everyone else is. A paintjob and wheels do little to increase the value of a car that has a poor market value as is. Yes I understand that you have replaced alot of parts, but still... to most people that is all gravy. |

| I Apologize, i thought that you trying to knock my car. i know its eta, i know that it has some mileage, i know that its a 85, but its was worth a chance. i hear about people buying cars that i personally think are junk and buy top dollar just because its a bmw. So, i thought i would play the game too, i at least they are buying something Reliable and clean. |
