| what about the transfer case from the 525ix, would also be interesting to see if that one would work. But the X5 one can probably handle gobs of hp. Atleast enough to boost the ix to decent levels. Hmm i'll see what i can find out, prob not much more than you're finding

| i feel like we are the only ones. Can you post a picture of it? I think the hardest part would be lining up the half shafts and dealing with the oil pan. I doubt that the x5 oil pan and the ix oil pan are in the same place. dry sump is probably and option. I'd be willing to do some custom work in order to handle 300 hp safely. do the splines match up. I bet a lot of custom work would be needed. Post a pic if you can that might be a start.

| find one on Ebay then. Or craigslist. You just resurrected a thread that has been dead for 5 YEARS!!!! almost to the day in fact. DTM is a dying site, at least for e30's anyway. Try Bimmerforums.com Bimmerfest.com e30world.net etc. They are much more active for e30 users and much more helpful because of which. |
