Hood stuck on e30

Hey guys, we just picked up this BEAT 1989 325is which needs a ton of work. The latch to open the hood is completely loose and when you pull it the hood does not pop to be opened. How else can I get it to open up? Thanks!

Get a long flat bladed screw driver and put in the driver side grill, up top is the latch, you can put the screw driver in there and turn it, it should open the latch.

unless you have a grill that prevents access to the little hole... it should be just to the left of the driver-side high beam. actually, any screwdriver will work, just jam it in there. good luck
