What is the "blackout thing"

What is the "blackout thing" across the grill and headlights on the e30 called, who makes them and how could i get one. That looks so nice. Who makes the hardtop cover also and how do I get one of those.

... the "blackout thing"? ... i just looked at the pic & can't see what you're talkin about... it looks like he just removed the headlights & added some sorta custom grille....

the hard top is made by none other than BMW... it was a factory option & costs a shite load for one in peak condition... i think you can find one for somewhere around 3 grand or somethin like that

Man I was in the middle of lunch, and now I've gone and lost my appetite. That is amoung the worst gross e30's I've had the displeasure of viewing.

i'd have to disagree jordan... although it isn't my taste... that thing is ****in CLEAN... and it CAN'T be one of the grossest e30's you've ever seen, cus there's not much e30 left

but seriously... i can't help but give props to the owner of that thing... he did a shitload of work to that e30 & from what the pictures show, he did a damn good job (or at least blew a crapload of money)

Adjusted the gamma +3. Looks like 96+ e36 grills, blacked out of course, and some kind of tint film over the headlights. This is also in conjunction with the rolled over hood/fenders.

Someone should take that gas can, throw it through the windshield of that car, and light a match.

i hate the taillights, but i've seen too many of them already-

and i don't care what the 205-series-tire-on-a-9"-wheel is on, it looks f***ing stupid. i don't care if i'm the only person here who thinks the wheel should be the same width as the tire; that's we-todd-did and i said the same thing when all the vw guys started doing it.

other than that, i don't see a problem- are we "not supposed" to use anything other than an mtechII or something?

The lines on that car are right on man, the hood flows with the top (which i don't think works with a regular e30, more later) and the front. the tailights work seemlessly with the physical "pinstrip" on the side of our cars. it just all goes togeather well.

Ok the top, there are two different types of tops i have seen befor on an e30 hardtop. one is mroe boxy and one is rounded like this. the one on there fits the car because it is a rounded car. The other one fits a stock e30 well because it has more difnition in the angles and the "boxyness" of the e30.

Over all awsome job. anyone with the important stuff like pictures of the engine or numbers for the enigne?

The car started out as a 318i which I assume is still the engine in place as belguim has super strict engine tuning laws. I LOVE this car, tail lights arent my cup of tea but its nice to see something other than a mtech 2 e30 with deep bbs like all of them you see in europe(which I still love btw but its nice to see someone throw some serious creativity the e30).

Hey guys not EVERY Belgian E30 is so worst as these
it's a new trend to make your car unknown to other drivers
I don't like this style

And you're right notMpowered de Belgian laws are sad for engine tuning also the taxes on a 2.5l
