i need you e30 gurus!! *thinking about buying 325i*

well i wrecked my s13 240sx hatch this weekend

but i found a 325i convertable that i am interested in getting. its a '91 with 56k miles on it. the thing is it has a few problems and i'm wondering how much they are going to cost to fix.

problem 1:
my biggest concern is that when i took it out and tried to hit the redline (6.2k or so it looked) it felt like it hit a fuel cut off right around 5k despite the tach saying that the redline should be higher, it wasnt nearly as consistent in feel as hitting a fuel cut off but still... this was also done in 2nd gear. problem repeated itself consistently during the test drive.

problem 2:
passenger side door does not lock.

problem 3:
when braking normally from moderate speeds (30+mph) there is a sound that sounds like heavy plastic hitting heavy plastic or something... i'm thinking it may be the abs, but why would the abs going when i first touch the brake? is this normal?

also i think the timing belt will need to be changed along with the water pump at 60k miles if i'm not mistaken.. how much does that cost to do?

i hit the button and lit up the lights that i suppose would be maintenance warning lights, and all but the oil one came on. and then turned themselves off.. i'm supposing that means that the oil is good (since they just changed it) and that the rest could/should be changed soon. but then again, i don't know. it doesn't have an owners manual so i couldn't check.

it has some really crappy wheels on it though, some 5 spoke american racing ones... and needs new tires. otherwise the car seems to be in really nice condition. they are asking 7k for it. what do you guys think?

ok to get it to redline you have to floor it, then give it an extra little push (jam the damn thing to the floor). i had the same question about a month ago when i got my car. and as for the check lights, i think that button is to check to see if the lights work, because when something is actually wrong with the car the lights will light up without you hitting th button, so i think your oil change light might be blown. the rest i have no clue about, but i hope this helps
