plastic bumpers

i was wondering if plastic bumpers will fit on my 1988 325is. they have the chrome ones righ now. i was also wondering if the plastic bumpers from the 318 will fit on the 325.
and is it hard to do

yes, they will fit, but you will have to custom fit them to your car

You have an 88; plastic bumpers are a direct fit for your car. No customizing involved to fit. Note 88-91 e30 share newer style body. Now 83-87 older styles require modification to make the plastic bumper work in the rear due to the rear finder arches.

So, e30speed, does this mean I can put the plastic front bumper on to an 1984 323i without modification to the bumper?

Just to clear it up a little... i'm not totally positive if the case is the same for an iC, but if my knowledge serves me right, this is what the deal is:

ANY e30 made before 88 requires modification to the REAR bumpers for them to fit... the FRONT requires NO modification

ANY e30 made DURING 88 w/ the slightly shorter aluminium bumpers can be fitted w/ plastic bumpers from any e30 made after 88 w/o modification

again... not totally positive about the iC... but i'm pretty sure that all e30 iC's came w/ the lower rear fender arch, so it's a direct fit for any year iC
