Brake lining light

"Brake Lining" light on dash turns one in the middle of a trip and stays on. Is it accurate in telling that you need new brake pads?

usually when the brake lining light turns on either your front pads or rear pads are around 85% worn or more. You should check them and when u replace the pads you usually also replace the sensor.

The wiring for the sensors also goes out a lot too. Either butt connector the sensor wiring or pull the bulb (assuming you do enough maintenance on your car to know when you need new pads).
