50MM 1.8F Why so good?

I just found my 50mm sitting lonely on the shelf.. I think I'll have to take it on the shoot with me tomorrow.

Also, getting ready to pull the trigger on an L lens soon.. can't decide which to get though... if it's still a close running when it comes time, I'll probably skip the L lens this go-round and just 'trade up' my 30D to the 5D, and wait for the next paying gig to get the L.
