Got it! It came in today.. a little heavier and the screen is 100 times better.. also, the shutter is MUCH quieter.. I'll be posting a few shots, but I expect it to be almost 100% identical to the 20D's results (aka, GREAT). I'm really more excited about the new copy of my EF 28-135 IS USM that came in today

No, costco took it, and my old 28-135 IS USM back at 100% purchase price Will hopefully be picking up the 5D soon and trade in the 30D

I not only got the 30D and a new 28-135 IS USM, I also traded in my 4GB Ultra II CF card for a new 4GB Extreme III card, I'm transfering files now, and MAN is that thing fast. I can't imagine the Extreme IV!

here's one of the first.. I've noticed that the focusing on this camera is MUCH MUCH MUCH sharper than on the 20D. It's a HUGE difference!

you know, after using it all last night and playing with it doing various things, the quiet shutter isn't only MUCH quieter, but it actually MOVES LESS.. meaning the shutter doesn't jar the camera if you're taking a low-light photo. I will look to do a couple 'comparo' shots, by looking at my old 20D shots and trying to replicate them.. its not a HUGE difference, but the difference is there and IMO it was worth the 1 week downtime it took to get it shipped.

Very, very nice. That is one thing that surprised me about the 20D from the second I took it out of the box. The shutter is noisy and violent! While it might sound "cool" on full motor when I am snapping away at the track, it's really not so cool when I am trying to get the right long exposure and I can all but see the damn body shake on the stripod when it fires!

Ok. maybe not THAT bad...but as an ex owner you must know exactly what I'm talking about.

Also, was that pic taken with the 28-135 IS USM? If so, as with most of the shots I've seen with that lens on other forums, it really is amazingly sharp for the money. I have even heard people say that its surprisingly comparable to the 28-105 f/4L, which is another lens that I am interested in, but that doesn't really warrant inspecting now that I have the 24-70 and 80-200 L glass.
