| the rebbel xti is really good for the price. it comes with shitty lenses tho, but ones with image stabilizer are going to make a big difference. we get like a 50-80$ discount on those so its not that much money off. |

being a pro shooter and using exclusively Nikon's when needing SLR equipement. I obviously think you can't go wrong with any of the Nikon products, but as mentioned before. You may want to look at what is included with each package. Not doing the research. I can tell you though you want your lens to over lap with their coverage. ie. 28mm len, 37mm-87mm, 70mm-300mm zoom. Also with digital photography what is almost as important as the megapixels is the storage or capability of the flash cards, select the model that allows for the largest flash cards. Hopes some of this helps. |

| thanks a lot guys for all the information, i think ive made a decision, and im gunna go with the rebel xti...its a little smaller than the nikkon, plus it has more megapixels and the image stabilizer considering i am going to be taking picture of my friends cars a lot and they want to blow them up, im sure the pciture will be a lot clearer...i cant wait to get it though, right now im using a POS 3 year old 2 megapixel sony cybershot, and i have to photoshop the hell outta the pictures so they look half decent...well anyways thanks for all the help, if theres any other coments anyone wants to add please do...my discount doesnt go into effect until after thanksgiving so i still have some time to think about it

Yes I am biased toward Nikon, it is all I shoot. other than the larger format stuff I use at work! (ha ha I come to a car forum and talk shop on cameras! sorry!) |

| yeah, after playing around with them on my downtime at work, i started to love the nikons, so im most likely going to get the d80, but do you think i should buy it with the lens, or without it and buy a seperate lens?

| I just bought a Canon Rebel XTi and really like it. Great autofocus, auto sensor cleaning, but could use better lenses, the one it comes with isn't perfect. I also just bought an adapter to use my 200mm telephoto and 28mm f/2.0 wide angle from my pentax slr. matt

| if you just wanna buy a camera from the store with one lens and play around then go with nikon. But if you want to do some more serious work I'd look into canon. They provide a better range of lenses to suite needs. Also dont forget third party lenses, some of them are as good or maybe even better then certain canon lenses and are usually a fraction of the cost....sigma, tanron, tokina |
