HELP

I sell cars on the internet for a living. I use a Lumix FZ5 at work, non - SLR. I don't resize my pics, yet they have these annoying sharp edges. I've changed the quality of the pics and nothing changes. Any ideas.

A lot of my pics look pixelly as well. I must be doing somethign wrong with this camera.

You need to resize them. When you let something automatically resize them (i.e. a host) then you run into the problem you see with the Vette.

That's what I'm saying. I'm not resizing them at all. I'm taking them at that resolution.

And what I'm saying is that you need to resize them because when they're automatically resized by whatever host/program you're using they're coming out like that.

No. I take the picture with my camera and save them from my SD card to my PC. They look like that on my PC before I ever host them anywhere.

Those pictures shouldn't look like that when zoomed in all the way 100%. Mine look like that when I open them cause they're @ like 33%

Ok here's the best I can do. It's an example b/w the two.

Here's a shot directly off the camera and it appears jagged cause it's only zoomed in 33% cause the picture is huge and hasn't been resized. Now if you zoom in 100% it won't be jagged anymore, but you'll only have a small part of the picture on the screen.


Now here's the picture resized/zoomed in 100%.

i know what you're saying. What I'm saying is I have the camera setup to take them at 640x480 which is the same size of what they'll be on the website. As soon as I take them off my camera at "actual pixels" they look like that.

The camera must be sampling at a higher DPI and downsampling. Poorly. Take it at a higher resolution and resize. (Sorry, I know it's been a circular conversation so far, but I think that really is the answer)...

I'll try to see if that turd camera has a goofy setting somewhere that I'm not finding. I had the same thoughts that you all did. YOu're just confirming them for me. Thanks.

I notice it has digital zoom options... I assume those are off.?? It also looks like there are editing features like add sound and resize options on the camera, as well as picture settings for resolution and quality... I wonder if you have it set to auto-resize instead of just shoot at the res.?
