Wheel Cleaning

Just a quick question, curious about how all you E36 M3 owners clean your 10 spoke rims. I've tried a bunch of things, but currently use nothing but my own hand wrapped in a rag. can't get in between the split spoke too well tho, but overall it seems the best method that I've tried. Give me your methods and opinions...

Floss them with a rag. I usually dont care enough to clean them that well, but I do anyway. I hate cleaning these wheels!!!!!!!

im just going to have them refinished by rimpro when i am up in MA. i use simple green and a big, soft brush to clean them (only when they are cold--- SG on brake disc smells bad). i don't bother to clean the inside or between the spokes; it's just a waste of my time. i think these are going to turn into winter rims this november....

meguiars wheel cleaner workswonders dont even need to useyour hands if you do it once aweek

get PBR metal master brake pads,,, dust hoses off reasonably well compared to stock pads.

I took them off and used a toothbrush two weeks ago to scrub them. They were dirty two days later. The simple solution? Don't use your brakes!

I would just buy a wheel brush like this one http://www.premiumautocare.com/stanwheeland.html they work very well.

Anywho, I've been using Griots Garage's wheel cleaner and 3 finger detail mit. Best thing I've found for cleaning wheels.

i highly recommend the griots wheels cleaner, not to mention its 'approved by BBS'...

in regard to cleaning M 10 spokes...i cleaned my friends a couple of days ago...and best bet, like mentioned before, just floss it with the rag...

you guys are complaining about M 10 spokes...

I found a better solution. I took them off the car a week ago and set them in the garage. Now they can just sit there.

i cannot wait until the day i get new rims. So tired of cleaning these mofos....i have brake dust on them that is practically baked on there.

me too. i cleane them last night...and some of it was stuck on. after scrubbing....it came off in a gooey paste?

alot of the time the stuff that seems to be baked on there will come off with polish like vanilla moose

3M adhesive remover takes the baked on stuff off, along with road grime/tar/etc.
