Well the thing with those automated car washes is they will get your car sparkling clean... but they will also take off a few layers of paint too . Haven't used one, never will. The closest thing I have used are those DIY car washes (you put quarters in the little tier, take the little sprayer/soaper thingy and go to work).

I dunno about the layers of paint. But if you have a decently wide rim it'll screw it up big time.

Might as well just use an SOS pad. Any type of high pressure water, especially the do-it-yourself bays, will scratch the paint.

By hand and with a bucket of warm water and a low pressure garden hose.

haha. Chamois. I use an Absorber, works much better than a chamois. It absorbs a lot, you can't compare towels to it.

I use a synthetic chamois from Zymol. It sweeps the water off nicely and it does not remove the existing wax like abbrasive towels.

I use a chamosis. I think its the best and safest way at least to dry. Just make sure you wet it first otherwise it can scratch the paint. I also got one of those california water blade cause i started gettin lazy but it scratched my paint when some dirt got wedged in it and i got a nice streak in the hood. So i just use it on the windows now.
