Think about what would happen if 100 people bought the wax from Zymol's point of view. They could put the 150,000$ into the stock market and earn the market rate of return for at least a year before the first refill would probably occur. With a modest 10% return, that's $15000. With compounding over many years, the results are many times more overwhelming. And, how can you ever be sure that Zymol will be around for YOUR lifetime.

lol, come on dude, I don't care who your stockbroker is, 1,500 will hardly be earning you shit. Yeah, I could look at it from Zymol's point of view, but why? I'm not giving them 150,000 that I could be investing and I don't care if they make a big profit off the wax. $15,000 over 10 years, wow big deal. I don't dislike Zymol, so I don't care if they do really well. The bottom line is that you're getting the best wax out there and in the long run it will only be marginally more expensive than normal. To me it's worth it even if I don't make my $1,500 back. Just the satisfaction of knowing I'm using just about the best shit out there is enough to justify the spending of only 1,500 spread out over a lifetime. I'll pay $100 a year for the best wax out there. As for Zymol being around forever, shit if it's around for 15 more years it's worth the money, I'm sure they'll be around for a while, but if not, oh well, it's only $1,500. Remember, you cannot take your money to the grave.

Yeah, that 15,000 is in the first year.

Imagine this strategy for Zymol:

Get 1,000 people to buy the package.

Revenues = 1,500*1,000 = 1.5 Million Dollars.

Costs = Wax Costs, etc. (a lot less than 1.5 million)

Let's say costs are 500,000$.

Profits = 1 million

Move the money into another account, and declare bankruptcy.

It's a bad deal for anyone. I'd rather save my money and use the cheap stuff. It's just a car.

Ok, your 20yo drive a $40+k car. You have NO IDEA WHAT YOU HAVE! You properly have some on detail it for you to? Zymol has been around for a LONG time. They sell a LOT of other stuff! They also have most of the They also have most of the concourse circuit. They are not going to go under any time soon! There also a lot more then a $1mil company! If you check their web sight they have wax that cost $7500 per 8oz!!! I'm also sure they have sold WAY over 1000 units of Vintage.

Are you some business major? There wax does cost a lot to make, that is why they charge so much. You keep using the cheep stuff and when your car get 10yo you'll see where the cheep stuff gets you.

I don't mean to attack you, but to ALL OF US here it is NOT JUST A CAR! It's a way of life. If it is "just a car"to you why did you get a M-Coupe? Why not a Toyota? Now, that's just a car....

Personally, Id love to have this wax. But not everyone can go around spending a g wax. Plus, within 10 years, I would want the next best car out there. And to me, its not just a car though...

Why don't we do this. All of us pitch in $10 for ONE can of wax. We ALL use it and keep taking it back for a refill. We can ship it to each other. Ok, ok....so this is a dumb idea but I thought it was cool.

I have NO IDEA why I just responded to this thread.

Exactly, to me if it really is the best and I have the money, it is worth it to me. Cars are more than just a hobby for me, they're a passion, which I intend to pursue until I'm an old crippled man, if I live that long.

Here's an idea: One person buys a bottle, then sells the wax to people for a lower price, and keeps getting refills!

I was just giving an extreme example to illustrate my point. The fact that you resorted to an argument "Ok, your 20yo drive a $40+k car." and "You have NO IDEA WHAT YOU HAVE!" bears no relevance to what I wrote, and the second statement is false. A personal attack was highly unnecessary and says more about you then myself.

Furthermore, it is just a car. Crying over dings, scratches, and other small things isn't worth it. Not having a perfect wax job isn't something to be upset about either. I enjoy my car, but at the same time I realize there are more important things. I am a car person, and am just as enthusiastic towards cars as anyone else on this board. Sure, you should take great car of it, but spending so much for wax is ludicrous.

Well, I'm the kind of guy who would spend $5,000 on upgrades instead of taking a vacation if I could only choose one, so it's not ludicrous to me. Sure, I wouldn't get that wax unless I had a special Bimmer, but to me my M3 or even the 540i is special enough to me. I think keeping the M Coupe in tip top shape will be worth it considering it will be such a rare collectors item in the future.

True, but many tests have shown that high price wax really isn't any better than the cheaper brands. I really can't imagine 1500 dollar wax being 50 times better than 30 dollar wax.

Ok, you have your opionins, I have mine. It is relitive, we all have cars that cost more then the average Honda, Most of us want it to look it;s best all the time. It wasn't a attack. Most of us take a LOT OF PRIDE in our cars, they repesent who we are. So we take hours washing, waxing, cleaning, modding, etc... It's NEVER just a car! It's part of us. Just about everyone I know on this list feels the same way! You car looks sweet! I love the M-coupe. All the M onwers I know think the coupe is a true sports car. They also keep them in great shape. They are enthusiast cars.

Now, does your car have any dents, scratches, etc? Form the looks of it , no. I bet if you came out and your car was nailed by a shopping cart or a big door ding, you would be pissed. Most of us really worry about this! Some have even used the word "kill" in contex with messing with there car. I don't fell it is just a car. i maxed out my credit card for my car, I don't do other things so I can modd it out a little more.

Now we do agree spending $1500 on wax is overboard! However you have to look at the big picture. It is a lifetime supply! I usally spend $150 on my wax it last me allmost 2 years waxing 2 cars once a month. To me that is worth it. The vintage is a small investment for someone that is into the appareance of there car.

Red face my response to the topic post:

Man did you read the ingredients? Rubbing that stuff on your car must be like giving it a lubed-up hand job!

My car is in near perfect condition except for two dings on the passenger door and another on the driver's door. Hell, I got a ding on my passenger door one week after I picked it up Sure I was mad about it, but I didn't bother to have it fixed. I really don't mind the few dings on the car. Sure it sucks having them, but living with lifes imperfections keeps me sane.

HAHAHA!!

I don't know why you have to put it in your hand and slop it on the car. Sounds wierd.

But it was designed for some guy's 1926 car. Would it still work for today's cars?
