Guys, they probably already have some refill limit, even if they didn't they would catch on and cut you off.

Damn, I never thought wax could cost so much! But there has to be a catch.

I have always used Blitz wax. Works great and lasts a decent amount of time. Anyone use both blitz and zaino can compare?? How long does the zaino last? and how many different applications do you have to put on?

well, i contacted zymol and here's what they had to say:

From: "Susan at Zymol"

Subject: Re: Question: zymöl Vintage Glaze refills

Dear Sir,
As stated, this wax is refillable for life. No limitations. When a fill is
needed you need to contact Customer Service to get the return authorization
number and information. It is up to you to return the container and pay for
the return shipment back to you once filled.

We allow up to 2 months for a production refill on Vintage.

Regards,
Sue

pretty ridiculous i know, but i'd only be waxing every 3 months or so anyway. maybe that long refill period is their way of discouraging abuse. so let's see... you get the wax. use it all (use it, sell it, whatever). then 2 months later you get more. repeat. so you could get 132 oz (6 loads) of the stuff per year. it's probably worth $50 per tub, so that's $300 worth per year. 5 years of that and it's paid for itself.

and that's assuming you actually USE 22 oz of this stuff every 2 months (without selling it). if you elect to try to make your money back, you could do that real fast. the ideal way is to figure out how many cars can be waxed with one tub. take that number and get that many people to go in on the purchase with you. every time a new tub comes in, everyone waxes their cars, as often as every two months. if anyone in the group wants to do it less often, you just distribute accordingly.

I think it's a great deal, especially considering the quality of wax you're getting and IT WILL eventually pay itself off or come close.

That would add too much weight to your car.

You would have to wax the car everyday to go threw a whole thing in a few months.

Mine has lasted me over 1 1/2 years waxing 2 cars every month. I got about 4 wax jobs left in the comtainer. You hardly use any of it! Now the down side is Zymol has to be kept in the fridge or it can spoil, ask me how I know.

the vintage is hard to work with. It has SO much carnuba in it that you has to be warm in order to turn it onto a wax.

2moths per refill is a joke! My supplier has it for $1000 and I'm going to find out if I can get refills form him insded of Zymol. I'm not paying $1k for wax and then have to wait to get it refilled!

My local car group also thought of one person getting the wax and splitting it up 10 ways $100 a piece. it never came threw but I just might get it some day when i have a grand laying around....

well i would probably just order a refill at least 2 months before i run out so i'm never 'waiting' on more wax. like sue from zymol said, sending them the empty container for refilling is your option. you don't really have to 'prove' to them that you actually used it. you could stockpile it for all they care.

It sounds like a good deal when you think of it like that, but there's a second part that you are forgetting to consider. And that is the interest lost on your original 1500$, which adds up over many years. With wax of that quality, it is likely you would go at least a few years for a refill.

Think about what would happen if 100 people bought the wax from Zymol's point of view. They could put the 150,000$ into the stock market and earn the market rate of return for at least a year before the first refill would probably occur. With a modest 10% return, that's $15000. With compounding over many years, the results are many times more overwhelming. And, how can you ever be sure that Zymol will be around for YOUR lifetime.

Yes, you have to scoop it up in the palm of your hand and let it melts and then apply it with your hand it.
