How often do you wax your car?

I guess it's ok you guys in places like Cali were you have nice weather all year, but not for people like me where in the winter and it's 0 degs and lower outside you don't exactly want to go out there and wax your car, but I still try and wash it every week.

I waxed my car for the first time this year today, I would have done it earlier but I didn't really see the point as it has a huge dent in the side and is getting a total respray within a month.
But it was a nice day and it needed

I wax my vette about once a week, with Zanio, and I will do the same more than likely with the BMW (maybe Megiurs)as soon as I get the little spots of rust fixed. I already buffed it to get all the oxidized paint removed, because I do not think the previous owner knew what wax was.

I wax my car probably on an average every 4-5 months. I'm kinda obsessive about it. Some times I just use a glaze on it, other times I glaze it and wax it.

you shouldn't glaze your car without waxing afterwards.... glaze just removes the layer of built up junk on top of your paint... it provides no protection... you must always wax your car after you glaze it because the wax is what protects the paint... if you want it to stay looking nice you gotta wax

Yeah, that's what I try to do, I'm always busy all the time, I usually don't have enough time to actually wax my car. My paint is brand new, and actually on some parts, (some of the paint is about 6 months old) I haven't even waxed yet. I actually just started waxing some parts of it.

Has anyone ever tried Zanio, it is a polish. The stuff is amazing, in my opinion.

I wax the M3 about once a month, even in the winter, the 5 gets it about every other month.

I just did the clay, ploish, wax on the 5 yesterday, it took 3hours! But it looks SO good!!!

The M3 always looks good, so it takes me about 30min to wax it. I only use Zymol wax. I'm going to try some Ziano soon, just to see whats it all about.

Chris Cone, you polish and don't wax? That is WAY bad, if you don't have the time, don't bother doing it untill you have the time. I also meet your Dad today at Griot's, nice M5

I won't be doin it anymore, since that I can now wax my car!! When you get new paint, it has to breathe and putting a coat of wax on it will trap all the vapors of the paint curing and cause bad problems. That's the main reason why I didn't wax it after using the glaze. But I won't be doin it anymore!!!

Edit: Oh yeah, and my dad mentioned that he saw you. You can't go to HIN next week cause you have to work??!! That totally sucks!!!

I live in California, and though the weather is quite nice, I still wax my car about once every other week. I use Meguiars Mirror Glaze paste wax ($17 inn the blue can). I use the Meguiars liquid polish to get old gunk off before waxing about once every other month. It looks really good.

So what is the "Glaze" you guys are taking about?
And do you think you can wax too much, and get some sort of huge wax bulid up that is actually bad?

I suppose that I am starting to think about my new paint job, but as the car it going to be painted and the oven bake in brand new ovens, I guess the paint should be cured when it's done. Or am I going to have to leave it for a while ( like Cone said) before I can start waxing?
I know some of you must have some experiance with this.

And Mike you TRULY are HARDCORE! Your an insiration to us all. Respect to you.
I guess you do it in your garage which must make it a little easier.
Mine has to sit on the driveway.

EVOIIIM3 I use Zanio on the vette, and the stuff is easy and works unbelieveable. The pictures that they have posted on the web site don't do it justice, as long as you follow the directions it works great! The only down fall is the price, but a little goes a long way. If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask.

Not often enough...

The M has a little bit of rust around the windscreen and near the skirts and rear wheel arches. It does get waxed at least every month during the summer when its in active duty.

However, it is in need of a paint and bodywork restoration which I'm hoping to get to in the next year or two. It also needs aftermarket EFI and a 2.5 race spec engine, but thats another story...
