Washington State. StrictlyBMW in Bellevue?

Anyone here have any opinions and experiences with Strictly BMW? They certainly need a new web-page...

strictly does pretty good work from what i've seen. my only complaint is that they charge almost as much as the dealer. they charged me $94.00 for something that prob only took 15mins. to do (and $0.86 worth of parts!)damn labor!

I trust Derrick and Andrew's work over at Strictly. I do have to agree that they charge like a motha. Their price is what $76/hr? Well even if the process takes only half and hour they will still charge you for an hour's worth. That's how they do things at the dealership anywayz, what are you planning to get done and what car do you have JimBob?

Hey Risk5000 what did you do to your car that only took 15 min to do? Couldn't you have done it yourself?

I got euro talilights. I bought my car i england and the wiring was different. when i replaced the lights, only one of them worked. they ended up putting a relay from one light to the other. it was $.86 in parts and $87 labor+tax. i tried to work somethin out myself but with not luck. i basically had no choice.

If you go to BCC, you've probably seen JAS ride. He has the coupe. Hamann99 has the sedan.

The work

I was just going to have an oil/filter change($39) and the spark plugs replaced. They want $106 just for the spark plug change! Isn't it a half-hour job and about $14 for the plugs? I really don't want to mess around at all with these BMW engines. I would do this on my old Maxima but not this car.

What bmw do you have Jim? Well Johnny(JAWKNEE) can help you out. He's a e46 rep for teh BMW CCA of Seattle. He knows quite a bit about cars, dependingon which model I honestly can't tell you who to go to yet. I've done oil change myself, whic is very simple and basically you get to see whatz goin on wit your whole car the whole time. Spark plugs shoudln't be anything biggie unless there's some computer program you need to add in which I doubt.

I've dealt with these folks before. I do recommend going with Andrew too. They do charge quite a bit but they will give you a maximum $35 (capped) discount on parts + labor if you have a bmwcca card. Keep in mind that dealerships generally charge $90 per hour whereas Strictly BMW charges around $75 per hour. Not too bad.

I had them put in my Dinan exhaust, rear strut tower brace and the euro brake ducts + splitter. They did a great job. I'd recommend them time and time again.

Only thing is...they quoted me $850 to install the Dinan suspension parts! That's about the same as the quote I got from BMW of Seattle too.

You buy the plugs and I'll do it for $50, I can even do the oil. I have filters! This is BASIC stuff, not hard at all, I'll teach you how to do it!

Now Strictly is a great place. But they over charge for EVERYTHING! I asked about them puttting on my muffler and they quoted me $4-500!! It took me 30min with a jack and hand tools! Then I asked about my UUC short shift. they said it is WAY labor intensive and is going to be $500 to install!
I did it with a jack and jack stands, took about 1 1/2 hours!

If you have deep pockets go there, if you are cheep like me go some where else! Car Tender in Seattle Capitial Hill is a GREAT place, they only charge for the work they do!

Now that is interesting...they didn't overcharge me. They charged me $150 to put the Dinan exhaust on (this was after the bmwcca discount was applied. For the SS they quoted $150 but I ended up having BMW of Seattle do it instead when I had my car there for service. They charged me $180.

I'll be sure to take a look at Car Tender next time. Can they install Dinan parts? I'm sure they can but I was just wondering.
