New Seat Covers

I just put new seat covers on the front and rear seats of my 1986 325e. The seat covers went on easy enough, however, I'm having some trouble getting the rear seat cushion to snap into place. Any advise out there?

Just put your knee towards the front of the seat and about 1/4 from the end, put all your body weight on it and it should click in.

I bought my seat covers through the Bavarian Auto Sport Catalog. They feel great, look good and fit like a glove.

Do you think getting these would be better than searching for a wreck with leather seats? What are the pros and cons?

Hey Yankie,

I think the answer to your question is, "It depends". My bimmer is a 1986. Yours is not as old. Although my original seat covers are leather, they started to show some wear. No rips in the leather, seats were still firm, but the leather was starting to look dull and scratches were more noticeable. You might hit the jack pot with a wreck, but your timing would have to be perfect and a lot of luck involved. The seat covers I bought gave my car a new refreshed look and they were not that difficult to install. Again, my BMW is 23 years old and it was time. So, on the up side, the new covers look good, feel good and were easy to install. In my case I see no down side.
