oil on body panels????

Was just looking at ziebarts website and there was something on there about sparying oil on the body panels of the car to help prevent rust. I know my uncle old me he did this to his truck a long time ago but i thought he was just kidding. What are the pros and cons to doing this and is it even worth it?

Are you talking about engine oil on the outside of the panels or fish oil sprayed on the inside of all the crevises like inside the doors and the boot etc?

If you get an oil leak, take your time fixing it, it'll give it a good coating! I'm not fixing the leak on my dodge for that purpose.

Exterior panels... I'll kill you.
