quick detailer

i didnt see it on the first page of threads so i thought i may aswell write about it so more people can see it...

ive been using maguires quick detailer for quite some time and i just have to say how good this product works and how much easier it is compared to polishing and waxing the car all the time... there is however a trick to using this product... it says to 'spray on, spread around, then spray off' this is time consuming and the finish, though nice isnt up to my standard :P... BUT if once you have washed the car however you wash it (soap, sponge, hose) once you have hosed it off and are ready from chamois spray then car with the quick detailer and it will do the spreading for you, then chamois it off like usual and you get a much less dry feel and better look...make sure you wash in the shade guys!

I used to use quick detailer, but recently switched to showtime by mothers
For me, it seems to shine longer......

To tell you the truth i've never used a quick detailer (including the one from Meguiar's brand) and left it at that.

I just use them in combination with clay bars then on to full detailing.

no its more a product thats takes 2secs to apply (whole car) that seems to work just like polish and wax... i use it more to extend the time period between each wax n polish. with regular(once a week) use you will notice that you car will constantly shine.

When you do have the energy, do remember to bust the real wax out.

Just a few comments:

I never thought of using the detailing spray after washing the car, if the car has ample wax/polish/sealer/etc. there would be no need for this.

There are a few things that you definitely need to keep in mind when using a detailing spray:
1. Know when to say when, if the car is too dirty it is a very very bad idea to use these types of products,
2. always good to use a car duster before using the detailing spray,
3. check your towel very very often, make sure it is not getting too dirty or you are trapping anything in it, you don't want to scratch the paint,
4. detailing spray works fairly well on wheels, spray the COLD wheel, use a wet towel and wipe clean, follow up with another quick spray and wipe with a clean towel.
5. If you are going to attempt to maintain your car with the spray, do it OFTEN, like every 2-4 days, don't let the car get too dirty.

Some other brands of detailing sprays include:
Griots
Poorboys
Chemical Boys (brand sounds scary, but I never tried it so I can't really comment)
Sonus
Pinnacle
DP

There are now interior sprays available too...
