I'm about to use a clay bar for the first time as well. My wife's ML350 needs some serious re-con. Bump for help.

I always apply in a straight line, typically front to back but on bumpers and such side to side.

Always use plenty of spray (Final Detail, Griots, etc), there is probably not a too much in this case.

I clay the whole car then use whatever spray and a microfiber towel and go over the whole car, I do not wash the car again like some do.

Sorry, I don't have any pics right now.

so do i clay the hole car then wipe off? or do lil sections at a time?
like do i firts spray lub then clay then wipe off or do i clay hole car then wipe all of at once ?

with waxing i herdf you should let the wax crue for like 45 mins o nthe hole car? this true ? so i just shouldntr do one fender at a time ?

I would clay one section, wash it off. Then, I would personally just rewash the whole car. But it is unneeded as mentioned above. Then, wax.

I do the following...
1.Scratch X - remove small scratches (not whole car)
2.Clay - Whole car
3.Megauires 1-3 (cleaner, polish and wax)

Been fine for the past 6 months...Still feels smooth

My detailing steps. I just did this on Saturday

Wash the car extremely well!!!
then clay (I use Poor Boys detail spray and clay bar from Superior Detail Supplies)
Wash the car again to get the detail spray off
Polish the car with Poor Boys SSR1 (heavier compound may be needed depending on scratches and paint condition) - Applied by Porter Cable (BUFF/Wipe by hand)
Apply Vanilla Moose Sealant - applied by Porter Cable - let this sit for 45 min (BUFF/Wipe by hand)
Natty's Blue carnuba wax (apply and remove by hand)

Enjoy!!!
