Wash Cloths, Mitt, Sponges... What do you recommend for these? 100% cotton, sheepskin mitts? How about the Meguiars X3010 Ultra Plus Wash mitt? It sounds nice, but is synthetic wool. http://www.meguiars.com/?car-washing...lush-Wash-Mitt

I used a sponge for half a year and ended up with swirl marks all over the place. I spoke to a panel beater who also said auto car washes eat away your clear coat so you need to cut and polish every six months. The auto car wash didnt leave any marks and actually removed swirl marks after a few sessions. I just purchased maguires lamb wool but cant use due to water restrictions so cant tell you much yet.

Microfiber mitts work well, quality sponges also work well, hogs hair brush is great but very costly ($60.00) Most important thing is to use 2 buckets one to rinse the sponge or mitt in and the other for your soap. Remember to always use a quality car wash soap. Not only do they have safe detergents to clean your car (without stripping all your wax off) but they also provide good lubrication for your sponge or mitt on your paint.

Get a sheepskin mitt. Walmart sells the Eurow (spelling?) brand and it works well. Target has decent ones too. If you want to mail order, get the ones from exceldetail.com. I've never had luck with Microfiber mitts; they just don't seem to hold the grit away from the paint (causes scratches). A sponge is likely to also hold the grit close to your paint.

| I use microfiber wash mitt works well for me. Thats a good tip too split the buckets, I have one bucket for the wheels then another for the car that way i can do the wheels first on a sunny day that works very well. As for the wash mitts I want to start using a sheep skin for the top half of the car and microfiber for the bottum half, and wheels. I feel microfiber picks up dirt better than sheepskin therefore it would be better for the bottum half.
