gum

so i come out of school the other day to find someone stuck gum in my door handles which is real gay and pisses me off. Yesterday my car was sitting in the sun and the gum melted from one of the door handles, and onto the paint. How should i go about removing the gum??? I was thinking goo-gone?

no sure about goo-gone.. seems like that wouldnt work too well with paint (not sure).. isnt it cold out there in CO?? when it gets cold the gum hardens and you might be able to pick/peel it off.. or use ice cubes to harden it and hopefully you can get it off that way.

Okay here is what you do...

Take a hairdryer and heat the gum up until it is soft. Take a old credit card or something and SLOWLY peel the gum off. That should get most of the gum off. From there, spray it with a little bit of water and a little bit of tar remover and use the credit card to get the rest of it off. Once you get the gum off. Wash the car, and use a clay bar to polish the area where the gum was. After you use the claybar, wax and polish the area.

At my shop we'd never use 'goo gone'. If anything, soak the gum with water and then use a dremmel with a buffing bit to get off any lasting residue. Or just scrape it off with something plastic and flexible, like deafboy said.

i dunno if this would work but go to office depot. Get some dust off or whatever its called. Flip it upside down and spray it. Liquid will come off and freeze the gum off. haha that sound kinda sketch

I had gum on my seatbelts I put goo gone on it and it got it off, so goo gone does work

haha thats exactly what i thought of, and i did it, i thought i would freze the gum and it would just chip right off, actually it doesnt work, just make the gum harder to get off. What i did was sprayed WD40 onto the gum, and it just wiped off, followed the WD up with a nice wax and it is fine now.

Nice nice...i would have used brake cleaner rather than WD-40 but oh well, whatever works right.
