tree sap..

arg... I found tree sap on my car today. A couple of small spots, and one spot that was significantly bigger then the rest. I tried goo gone to get it off but it didn't completely work. It's hardened pretty bad and it's really annoying me Can anyone recommend a method they've used to get it off? Thanks in advance

I would try diluting some rubbing alcohol into water and hitting it very carefully. What doesn't come off after that get a clar bar found at most auto parts stores and go to town on it. Then imidiatly afterwords coat with a good wax.

ok I tried the a good wash and claybar... it took some of the sap off but there's still some left It's really getting me pissed now I don't know what I should use.

I didn't try the alcohol for fear of damaging the paint. I'm about to try anything at this point

Dawn dish soap... It will strip any old wax, and will strip the sap, I almost back that up 100%. Then after you do that, wash the whole car in a car specialized "shampoo". Then throw a good coat of wax on it because you just made the car 100% virgin.

i used a sap remover i got at the auton store. took a little elbow grease but came off real good.

Best stuff I've ever found. Spray it directly on to the sap, and work it in with your finger - it'll dissolve it in a few seconds. Wipe away, wash, and re-wax.
