interior detailing

What do you guys recommend for interior detailing on leather seats and the plastic dashboard? The products that I have used before made the seats and dash look too shiney. Is Lexol any good? CMT, what do you use on your interior?

Lexol is good, you can't go wrong with it. I use and sell, einszett leather conditioner and einszett cocpit premium. CP does not leave a shine, it has a matte finish.

I've always used Lexol for the leather and Vinylex (also Lexol) on the plastic. The "gloss" finish can be substantially toned down by going back over each section with a clean rag. Good luck!

Many of you have probably never heard of it, but "Poorboys" makes some really good products. When used with the right cloth, it works very well. They make really, really good microfiber towels for detailing, drying etc. Most of their stuff I have from them is just a spray and wipe, but works great. I've used their leather care, gives a nice clean shine to the leather. What I also really like is their "spray and gloss quick detailer" just spray it on, and use one of their good soft towels to wipe it. ok, well sorry for sounding like an advertisement but here's the site. I recomend their stuff: http://www.brilexsolutions.com/poorboys_world.php

If you're really looking to make the car look brand new, find a place that does the DuPont detailing (chevy dealers had a promotion for it). My dad did it to his 4 year old benz, took the guy about 8 hours to do, but the interior looked brand new. They also do the exterior. Its so slick that you throw a towel on the hood of the car and it slides right off, LITERALLY (its pretty cool). The whole process is a detail/5-year protection and looks amazing...The bad part: it will set you back at least 600 dollars

my bad, i dont know about that DuPont part of what I just said. What i was talking about is called Auto Armor, made by ECP. I dont think its consumer product though, because online i just saw it in like 5 gallon tanks. anyway, its about 550 to get the whole car looking brand new.

Might sound crazy, but that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is super on leather. Just follow the directions on the box and clean. Just make sure to follow up with some good conditioner afterwards.

Yeah I got Grey leather in my cclass, but it doesnt seem to take any coloring away. The trick is to not press the sponge deep into the leather. Any hard pressure is sure to strip the leather I would think. Use it like a regular washcloath, but dont jam it into the leather and swirl it around. I wet the sponge wipe the area, then wipe again with a washcloth, and the follow up with a good conditioner.
