| No knowledge of the smooth, paint-ready trim, but if you take the factory trim that is on the car to a professional, they will sandblast it, then prime it for the best stick. I wouldnt' hand sand it, as you would want the surface to be as even as possible. Leave it to a pro, results far exceed anything one can achieve with sand paper and a can of spray paint, its worth the money. |

| just dont rush it, they sell trim restorer at local shops but if you need paint then take your time and properly prep the area

| used a completely different method... used 3M's Scotchcal Electrocut film. This stuf is quite amazing, my roomate found a small link on e46 fan. about it, So we ordered this stuff from a wholesaler and had it shipped within 3 days! It is like using a seran wrap with a sticky side that is the color of your car! It came out really good, looks identical to paint... I will post pics as soon as it stops raining out here, along with step by step pics. Literally Looks Like Paint!!!!! ![]() |

what did you prep it with? what kind of primer? are there small pits in the paint from the textured trim? |
| |||
| wash it regularly and then use like a low concentrate degreaser or bug n tar remover. then i just slightly sanded it like wetsand and then i taped off all the edges and painted them with straight black automotive spray paint. ill have to find the can to let you know what it was. it was better than when i first bought it. and no there are no small pits
