Scratch removers

How effective are they really?
I just used some from FORMULA 1 the "head-duty" type paste too. waxed thereafer with the same brand, carnauba wax.
I dont really see where it did any wonders at all.. i mean those litlle scratches didnt disappear. Of course i new better to not even think about the deep ones. Quite disappointed here.

Suggestions anyone?

Well I am not familiar with the products you have, did you use them by hand or with a PC? There are no magic potions to get rid of scratches, usually it takes a lot of work.
(multiple passes with buffer/ light compound, then polish, wax etc.)

i did it by hand.. Maybe by the end of this month i'll look into a buffer machine, then again if i know that i wont get any "shine" other than that i get from just a wash, i'll forget the buffer until i do a paint job.

Sratch removers are good only for light sratches, let say another car hits you and you have a green paint on your white bumper. Thats what it is for.

To remove clear coat sratches..., thats a whole different story.

Some polishes work better at removing scratches better than others, one I can personally reccomend is Meguiars Scratch-X you can also find this product locally.

Yes I have seen the Mequires scratch x, Its $7 dollars at K-mart, I thought about trying it on my dad's PT cruiser.

If you have a Porter Cable and the green cutting pad (or blue for minor) you'll be amazed with the results.

I use the green and would dab the area that I'm polishing, then put it on 1 and rub in the product. Then put it to 5 and keep going over untill you start to see it shine..... HOLY crap did this stuff work. Heres a pic below

Don't ask how the hood got so bad (left side), but the Scratch X took just about everything out in one application. YES there is still swirl marks on the right side but I did two more go arounds, and then applied 2 coats of Klasse All-In-One for an absolutely scratch free hood. Then I put some PS21 wax to top it off

The hood is like a damn mirror now!!! See new sig!!

i use 3m and also scratch X, works well for me.... and using the microfiber is definitely hottness!!!
