| I have heavy oxidation on my car that has not been polished or waxed in 2 years. I tried 3m Fi2 on a PC DA orbital on a yellow pad. It did not remove all the oxidation. I tried a clar bar and it did. Would using 3m rubbing compound (on my polisher) give me the same results as clay baring??

| Here is a good article on polishing. Polishing Article It sounds like you need to use 1Z Ultra Paint polish. This is made for problems like you have. The clay will NOT help shine the paint by removing the oxidation. It just removes the embedded crud stuck in the paint.1Z Ultra Paint Polish After you work this I would follow up with their "Paint polish". Then you can add your wax or sealant.1Z Paint Polish

| ~One mans opinion / observations~ I’d agree with exceldetail- use detailer’s clay-a solvent type cleaner (Klasse AIO) and then an abrasive polish ~Hope this helps~ Knowledge unshared is experience wasted justadumbarchitect / so I question everything/ Jon |
