After perfecting and refining a new method of detailing described in detail here, I moved on to friends cars, and then finally started detailing on the side for a shop to help get their name out to the public. Since most of the individual threads I created have been removed due to the forum reset, I am re-adding them all in one thread.

I urge anyone who is interested in the products I use for detailing to contact Dewey325 for anything you might need, or want to try out. He has become my exclusive distributor due to proximity and price.

I highly recommend it. I've never seen my paint in such terrific shape before now. Chris only uses the best of the best during the recon….my paint look almost new after, and still does!

one question: what do you think is the best way to get your name out there? i have been open for business for a good 4-5 months and nothing has been working to my liking. i mean, i get a car here and there and of course my loyal customers, but what's a great way to really get "detailed to perfection," out into the world?

any help would greatly be appreciated.

Word of mouth is the best, Do a great job, follow up with your customers, maybe even give a discount to your customers on their next detail if they give you a referal. For the most part Newspapers suck, unless you do something in a small local paper that isnt too expensive. Radio is hard to track, never really know if its working but it does get your name out there. You can solicite business from other businesses around you, EX. real estate agents love clean cars because they are always taking people to see houses. Business people are great for your word of mouth advertising because most of them come in contact with many people. Have nice cards made up and maybe even nice flyers with your services that you can give out. Always remember you are a profesional, so look like one and act like one.
