| New to this forum...Have a good project and would love all suggestions! I have just purchased an 84 Porsche 911 in Guards Red. Its a great car but has been sitting under a cover for almost 2 years and the paint has some heavy oxidation!!! I would like to bring back the paint as best as I can but would need some help on the steps. I was thinking of using zaino products but first would be removing the oxidation but there are a couple signs from the paint that tell me it could be thin so I will be leaving this in the hands of a professional detailer. BUT if applying zaino products should I just get the car machine buffed with like a 3m swirl remover and compounding...etc and then begin the zaino process??? Or even if I dont use zaino products...anything will help. Has anyone ever delt with the same problem??? Would be nice to hear from someone who has...thanks guys! Also..noticed that paint wont hold a coat of wax for more than 4 or 5 days it seems like...is this from heavy oxidation??? |

| If the paint is heavily oxidized, which Guards Red is notorious for, then it obviously needs to be rejuvenated. I personally like Klasse AIO for this application. If you don't have a buffer, then you would either want to invest in one, or have a detailer do it for you. After the oxidation is removed, Zaino would be great it. |
