| The secret to the best wax It really does all come down to; 85% preparation, 5% product 7% application methodology and the balance is in the ‘guy’ of the beholder PS: Zymol and Groit's BOS wax are both glaze type products (ie they contain fillers, after a few washes...no more fillers) |

| ~One man’s opinion / observations~ The ‘best’ is very subjective to say the least. It really does all come down to; 85% preparation, 5% product 7% application methodology and the balance is in the ‘guy’ of the beholder. The most expensive wax / sealant in the world will do nothing to dull, oxidized paint; conversely, the cheapest wax / sealant you can buy will look fantastic on a properly prepared and polished paint film surface. Wax- once it cross-links it becomes a transparent layer on top of the paint film surface and provides Colour, Depth and Clarity that are without equal. It is designed as a sacrificial protection, Carnauba Wax melts at 180oF and evaporates / erodes over time (dependant upon ambient temperatures and climatic conditions) which limits its durability. As a general rule-of-thumb: 50% after 30 days, 75% is gone after 60 days and after 90 days it should be reapplied. Sealant- has a better durability than wax, will withstand extreme temperatures (in excess of 325oF) and are usually used for long-term protection. They do not have the gloss or depth of shine that a Carnauba wax does. ~Hope this helps~ Knowledge unshared is experience wasted justadumbarchitect / so I question everything/ Jon |

| Yeah its all about the polish/sealant phase.. It will smoothen your clearcoat and give the paint a depth and fill in microscratches. The wax is more about protecting what the car looks like. Make sure you clay and use a good polish.. (i.e. do all the steps in the mothers 3 step system etc).. You can do several applications of wax as well as polish/sealant..
