| Two things that will help you guys that share a cold winter with me -
Califonia Water Blade - you can shave tons of time off your dry. It won't get every drop of water off, but about 90% of it. Some people say that it will scratch. The blade itself WILL NOT SCRATCH! If you leave some dirt on your car, it will catch and scratch, sure, but a chamois will do the same thing. Use the chamois to get the last bits and pieces, it will still save you time.
Neoprene gloves - I got them in Alaska about 7 years ago. I went to get a second pair the following year, and they weren't there ever again. This was in some bumble**** backwoods town called Seward, Alaska. I used to work with fish that were just a degree or two above freezing, and my hands stayed WARM even though they were constantly touching the cold fish. They actually work better when they are wet. This is the same material as a SCUBA wet suit, so anyone who dives might know of a source. Anyway, they are very lightweight gloves, so you don't lose much use of your fingers, and the best thing is, they keep your hands WARM when wet.
Hope this helps some of you guys! I don't wash much because I share parking space with about 20 other homes, so washing my car when its cold would leave them all with a nice ice strip out back.
I wouldn't put it past just about any one of the neighbors to slip and fall and press charges... |
